FC2 Female Condom® is a thin, soft, loose-fitting sheath made from nitrile (non-latex), which is worn inside the vagina. There is a flexible ring at each end. The inner ring at the closed end of the sheath is used to insert the condom inside the vagina, and to hold it in place during intercourse. The rolled outer ring at the open end of the sheath remains outside the vagina and covers part of the external genitalia. FC2 Female Condom® is inserted into the vagina before sex. It holds the sperm after ejaculation, thus helping prevent unintended pregnancy. It also acts as a barrier to sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV. You can insert the FC2 ahead of the sex act. This allows for a more spontaneous act because an erection is not needed to insert the FC2. Box of 3.
Note from FC2’s website: There has been no research on the effectiveness of FC2 for anal sex, and it is not approved for anal sex use. However, many public health organizations confidently promote FC2 for anal sex. These organizations advise to insert FC2 inside the anus and to remove the inner ring before having anal sex. It is also possible to first remove the inner ring and then put the condom over the erect penis. Some men put the ring over the penis for a better grip.
